The most important thing to note: queen and king boards are the same length (80 inches) but different widths. The king is 16 inches wider. Don't measure your frame — measure your mattress.
The easiest way: check the label sewn into the side of your mattress. It will state the size. If the label is gone, measure the width:
Bed frame inner dimensions vary by manufacturer. Two queen frames from different brands can differ by 1–2 inches. Always measure the mattress itself — mattress sizes are standardised.
Queen is by far the more common size in the US — roughly 60% of American households have a queen bed. King beds are more popular in master bedrooms where space allows.
Our queen bunkie boards are available in both the 10mm slim profile and the heavy-duty MDF version. King size is available in the slim 10mm profile.
A split king is two twin XL mattresses placed side by side — often used with adjustable bases so each partner can adjust their side independently. For a split king setup, you would need two Twin XL bunkie boards rather than a single king board.
